Overview
This case study examines the swift installation of our 14R Bundle in Iskenderun TMMOB following a devastating earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6, 2023. The earthquake severely damaged the region's infrastructure, resulting in a water shortage and posing a significant risk to the affected population. TMMOB is a credible authority in Turkey for architecture and engineering. Their soup kitchen was connected to the water filters and water pumps Deploy provided to maintain a consistent dishwashing facility and to uphold high hygiene standards. The 14R bundle was deployed two months later when TMMOB relocated their operations to a permanent location.
Application
In this case, the 14R Bundle played a vital role during the challenging post-disaster period by supplying both potable and non-potable water. With the provision of potable water, Deploy's 14R Bundle was able to connect to various types of water filters. In collaboration with Lifestraw, who generously donated the Lifestraw Max model, safe drinking water was made accessible to the residents. The combined efforts of these technologies ensured access to clean drinking water, significantly reducing the risk of waterborne diseases and promoting the well-being of the community in Iskenderun TMMOB.
Installation Challenges
1. The tank remained unsupervised and unsheltered in its crate for two months, resulting in minor water damage. However, once the tank was installed, hydrated, and filled with water, its shape recovered, and it worked without any issues.
