Overview

Central Adiyaman Container City was established to provide shelter for those who had been displaced from their homes due to damage or destruction. The camp consists of 500 tents, each accommodating 5-8 people. This container city offers essential services, including food, clean water, and sanitation facilities. To address the urgent need for clean water, our 14R Bundle was transported via air freight from the UK to Central Adiyaman Container City within a week and installed nearby to provide essential water services. Remarkably, the tank was fully completed in just one day, thanks to the efforts of two well-trained volunteers.

Application

In this case, the 14R Bundle played a vital role during the challenging post-disaster period by supplying both potable and non-potable water. With the provision of potable water, Deploy's 14R Bundle was able to connect to various types of water filters. Through collaboration with Lifestraw, who generously donated the Lifestraw Max model, safe drinking water became accessible to the residents. The combined efforts of these technologies ensured access to clean drinking water, significantly reducing the risk of waterborne diseases and promoting the well-being of the community in Central Adiyaman Container City.

Installation Challenges

1. Transporting water tanks to earthquake-hit cities was daunting due to closed entryways and rubble-filled streets. Using plastic tank alternatives was not feasible because they needed transportation by lorries, which wasn't possible. Instead, Deploy easily transported our tanks to the site using a panel van, and a forklift was used to load the tank onto the van.
