Overview
This case study focuses on the swift installation of our 14R Bundle in Samankaya Mahallesi, accommodating 500 people, following a devastating earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6, 2023. The earthquake caused severe damage to the region's infrastructure, resulting in a critical water shortage and posing a significant risk to the affected population. We also worked closely with two highly-trained volunteers who successfully installed the tanks in just one day, making them ready for use the very next day. In this case, we strategically placed our 14R Bundle beneath a tree to ensure that the water remains cool. Despite the limited available space, our tank fits perfectly, showcasing its adaptability in challenging environments.
Application
In this scenario, the 14R Bundle played a pivotal role during the challenging post-disaster period by providing both potable and non-potable water. With the capability to supply potable water, Deploy's 14R Bundle seamlessly connected with various water filtration systems. In a generous collaboration with Lifestraw, who donated the Lifestraw Max model, the residents gained access to safe drinking water. The concerted efforts of these technologies ensured consistent access to clean drinking water, significantly lowering the risk of waterborne diseases and enhancing the well-being of the Samankaya Mahallesi community.
Installation Challenges
1. The installation area was a confined space with limited access.
2. This tank was installed by 2 Deploy volunteers.
